The form of his latest 2nd when beaten by 8 lengths is starting to look pretty strong with the winner that day along with the 3rd and 4th placed horses all going on next time to beat subsequent winners. Step up in trip here looks ideal on breeding and conditions will pose no problems. Returns from a 2 month break with the yard amongst the winners and should run a big race today. Ca Plane Pour Moi at 22/1 could offer some EW value with 4 places available.

Knickerbockerglory 1pt win only 10/1 – Has been pitched in pretty deep in his last couple of races and has acquitted himself pretty well. This task doesn’t look a simple one either but he is easing back down the weights and however competitive this race looks his last couple of runs have been in much deeper company. Yard excels in these competitive handicaps and this ultra consistent sort should give you a good run for your money. Cheek pieces on for the first time which could eek out a little improvement. Hopefully the drying ground will be riding tacky to play further into this ones favour.

Perseus Way 1pt win only 10/1 – Now with Christian Williams after a short spell on the flat with Owen Burrows and previously with Gary Moore so has been passed around a little by his connections. Has some very smart juvenile form from last term but has not been seen to the same affect for his new yard in two outings in very testing conditions. A return to a sounder surface could provide the key today and this talented 5 year old is lurking on a very tempting mark with his best form considered. Well worth another try at this trip.

Monty Nevett 0.5pt EW 40/1 – Well beaten in two handicap runs so far for this yard and looks very easy to ignore on those efforts. Both runs have been on heavy ground however and that certainly will not have suited this smart and speedily bred gelding. Has a piece of form at Newcastle for previous connections over a similar trip and conditions that would make todays mark of 89 look like an embarrassing error should he still have that in the lock up.
