Kingston Stud Handicap Hurdle
Lallygag 1pt win only 11/1 – Not really got going this season including in a couple of runs over the bigger obstacles but comes here having been freshened up and does so with his yard bang in form. Was 3rd in the race last year from a 4lb higher mark and finally gets ideal conditions to get back on track today. Last years race has worked out pretty well and if the yard have got this one back anywhere near last years run he should be well in from todays reduced mark.

Matt Hampson Foundation Silver Trophy Handicap Chase
Gemirande 1pt win only 10/1 – Has a little bit to prove coming into this but could be one that is ready to turn the corner. Has run well enough in a couple of decent races this term and has done so without conditions in his favour. Will not have the same excuses today and last years 3rd should be able to go close again from a 4lb lower mark. Yard struggling for form a little but this one hasn’t done much racing recently and could have more to offer in what will be just his 3rd run since last years placed effort.

Betterforeveryone 1pt win only 15/2 – Looks to have improved markedly this term switched to the bigger obstacles and despite the 7lb hike in the weights for his latest win he might not be done just yet. Will need to step up on his latest win as this will demand more but was very impressive last time and todays extra yardage looks to be well within grasp.

Safran Landing Systems Handicap Hurdle
Moon D’Orange 1pt win only 9/1 – Novice winner on yard debut last time out who looks well handicapped given that he beat a decent looking Paul Nicholls horse who won next time out pretty comfortably. That form would put this one a good 6-8lb well in on handicap debut for local trainer Fergal O Brien. Will likely have improved for that run and has been freshened up again for this. Big run expected from one of the least exposed horses in the race.

Full Back 1pt win only 12/1 – Comes with obvious risks attached having only completed in two of his last 4 runs and being tailed off last time out. Excuses can be made however and the heavy ground last time out would not have been ideal. Previously however was putting in a pleasing return from 14 months off the track in a very hot race at Ascot before coming to grief 5 out. Doubtful that he would have troubled the winner that day but that was a very good race and it did show that he retains plenty of ability. Has won over CD from a 5lb higher mark and gets more suitable conditions today should he be back to somewhere near.

Barefoot Angel 0.5pt EW 33/1 (5places) – A Group 3 winner as a 2yo who has been very lightly raced since. Just 2 runs last term when clearly not quite right, finished well down the field in a Group 3 here on his return last season before receiving wind surgery and was again a slightly disappointing 7th when last seen on handicap debut. Has been dropped to a handy mark however and Richard Fahey has opted to hand onto him which is a small vote of confidence for what is just a second run in handicap company. Trip and conditions look ideal and yard are very much amongst the winners at present. Lively outside chance with 5 places on offer.
