Miss Brazen 1pt win only 5/1 – Ran with credit on a handful of times last term in better company than she meets here today. Made a very pleasing return to action 23 days ago at Beverley and looked in need of the run that day so would be entitled to come on for that run today. Should also be open to some improvement this term and could be ready to take advantage of this sliding mark now back in calmer waters.

Lucky Man 1pt win only 11/2 – Has been gelded following an underwhelming campaign last year albeit in some pretty hot handicaps. As a result he starts this year on a much reduced mark and back down in grade to one where he is clearly more comfortable. Now sits 6lb below his last winning mark and has a record in class 3 races of 3 wins and 1 place from 7 runs. Will need to be fit from a break but a return to his form of 2022 would see him brush this lot aside.

Diamondonthehill 1pt win only 14/1 – Not being overwhelmed by the form of the short priced favourite i am inclined to look elsewhere and that brings me to one who ticks plenty of boxes. Record says that he is best on this quicker ground with all 4 wins and 5 placed efforts coming on good or quicker, with his last 3 wins on good to firm. Has placed twice at the track including one run over CD and was not beaten far in this race last term where he did not get the best of runs and his mark looks to be about bang on so on a going day could pull this off.

Princess Niyla 0.5pt EW 50/1 (5 places B365) – Its pretty impossible to ignore how well treated the Godolphin favourite, Rayat is in this race on his form from last year and his yards 30% strike at the track just gives further hope. but with 5 places available we are happy to take him on given his absence from the track along with a few other unknowns. The selection has not really set the world on fire but did put in a much improved run last time out and is one that has the ability if able to put it all together. Gets her trip and conditions today and is sitting on a very workable mark.

Prospect 1pt win only 11/2 – Looks to have had a similar schedule laid on as last season when also very similarly he started to come to the boil on his 3rd run with his next being his best of the season. His 3rd run last term was over 5f on this card where he was only narrowly denied from a 10lb higher mark. Proved just as effective next time out over todays trip of 6f and ran well in defeat in much better races to see out the season. This looks a great opportunity to get his head in front today. Likes quicker ground too.
