Garden Oasis 1pt win only 17/2 – Twice a winner over CD including here last June on good to firm ground from a 6lb higher mark. His form somewhat tailed off after that hence the much reduced mark today. Made a pleasing reappearance on far less than ideal ground and could bounce back with a big run at a track that has suited well in the past now getting what looks to be much needed quicker ground.

Match Play 1pt win only 5/1 – Leading contender on his form of last year despite not backing that up so far this term. Drops in grade for this race today and should be fitter too for the recent run. Handicap mark has fallen to a very workable one and looks to have more scope for improvement than many of his rivals today. Runninwild 20/1 looks to be a solid EW chance runninmg from 11lb lower than his last win now back on turf and dropping back in grade.

Trip seems to be around optimum and looks versatile with conditions. Has plenty of scope for improvement for a yard that does well at this track. Callum Shepherd looks to be a positive booking too with 3 wins from 8 rides in the last 12 months for the yard.

Duchess 1pt win only 16/1 – Seemed to be in decent heart when last seen 6 months ago and returns here taking a marked step back in trip. Contrary to others opinions this step back on breeding looks to be a smart move and for me she has definitely been running over the wrong trip. If she is able to go the early pace here she could well spring a big surprise. Conditions also look to be falling in her favour for this.
