Music Society 1pt win only 14/1 – Probably not the force of old but does come here sitting on a much reduced mark and with conditions looking favourable. Has a record of 2 wins and 1 place from 5 runs over CD so clearly goes well here. Often needs a run or two to get going and could be dangerous now getting a few runs under his belt. Went very close from marks of 82 and 83 last term and runs today from 70 so plenty in hand on a going day.

Racing Again 31st May Handicap
Miss Willows 1pt win only 11/1 – Not an obvious sort on paper, comes here off the back of a break having undergone wind surgery and has not really achieved much in handicaps to date. Runs from a basement mark here today and gets a very valuable 3lb to negate being 2lb wrong at the handicap and will be one of few that will appreciate this ground so could well put last term behind her now and i feel better can be expected. Weak race and this one has more potential that what we have seen to date.

Musical Masquerade 1pt win only 17/2 – Pretty low mileage for a 5 year old from this yard and one who holds lots of potential. Ran very well on his only attempt at this trip and put in a very decent performance on soft ground last time out in behind a subsequent winner. Soft ground and the drop back to 7f looks to be a very smart move and this one looks ready to pounce with his yard in good order.

Navagio 1pt win only 13/2 – Put in a big run on stable debut in this years Lincoln but failed to follow that up with a lesser performance next time out. All of this ones better form however has come on softer ground which he will encounter tonight and a step back in the right direction can be expected in the hands of Ryan Moore. This represents a fair drop in class from his last 2 runs and this looks a much more realistic target.

I had a look at these, good old Music Society deserves a win, but the fact that there are 23 non runners in the first 7 races gives the impression that some of the trainers think the course is unraceable.
