Ballyfinn 1pt win only 15/2 – Made a promising start when fifth in a pretty decent looking race at Ascot but has not quite followed that up in two runs since. A chance is taken that he can get back on track today now stepping into handicap company for the first time. His opening mark is no gimme but that debut run has worked out well and on that evidence it looks a fair one. Improvement could come for the step up in trip today when looking at the breeding and this yard do very well with their runners at the track.

Your Darling 1pt win only 11/1 – Form looks patchy at first glance but then when you take a deeper look you can soon see that excuses can be found for the inconsistent look. The wins have come on good – good to soft ground which he will encounter today and despite the massive hike in the weights for his emphatic win in a good race at Ascot, he could still have more to offer in a race of this magnitude. Looked out of his depth on softer than ideal conditions last time out and that was the Topham chase at Aintree so would be entitled to go much better here in a race where very few have anything in hand over the handicapper. Mackenberg 28/1 rates a solid EW chance now back in calmer waters too.

Schloss Roxburghe Hotel Handicap Chase
Hidden Commander 0.5pt EW 22/1 (3 places b365) – Has 3 course wins to his name including 2 over todays CD and gets what look to be perfect conditions for another tilt at this race. Was 3rd in the race last term, beaten just 1/2 length from a 3lb higher mark and comes here again having had a similar pipe opener. Back down in trip and ought to be able to run a big race again. Interesting that Sam Coltherd opts to ride this one over the yards much stronger market mover in Grand Voyage 7/2.

Look Who’s 65 Elliot Henderson Handicap Hurdle
Jungle Jack 1pt win only 11/2 – Has disappointed in his last two runs after putting in a very good performance over CD back in Feb. A chance is taken that the yards rich form of late along with the first time blinkers can help this one get back on track. Has won from this mark previously and on best for looks to still have a bit in hand. Has been let down by his jumping recently so hopefully the blinkers can correct that today.
