Paws For Thought 1pt win only 14/1 – A 3 times winner here at the Roodee who is starting to look well treated again. Steps back up in trip to what would appear to be his minimum required and is now sitting 4lb below his last winning mark. A reproduction of that form would comfortably be enough here today. Won’t want the ground to be too quick and hopefully there will be enough good left in there.

Dovena 1pt EW 28/1 – Made a solid start for her new yard back in September when narrowly denied by a subsequent winner who is now keeping much better company. has been off the pace and looking in need of the run on her last two starts and hopefully these runs have put her right for what will be a first attempt over this longer trip. Certainly bred to get the extra yardage but does have a bit to prove. On best form is well weighted however and with a good 5lb claimer in the saddle she could be one to side with today. Loves the fast ground and the yard do well with the handful of flat runners they have, 2 wins and 4 placed from 10 flat turf runners in the last 12 months for a 60% place strike.

Winter Reprise 1pt win 18/1 – Finished 4th in this race 2 years back from a 12lb higher mark than he gets in off today. Has changed yards since however and had a 526 day break in between but has improved in all 3 of his starts for the new yard and most recently went close in behind a subsequent winner. Looks very well handicapped on that previous run here in a race that worked out very well afterwards and has started to come good again for the new yard who are bang in form. Interesting that he runs for same connections and they have returned for another crack at this and also that they have kept the faith.

No Recollection 0.5pt EW 40/1 (4 places general) – Has gone well enough in two runs here for the yard to tempt me into a small EW play with 4 places widely available. This race looks deeper and the favourite is a worthy one but the selection doesn’t have a lot to find with a few of these and is weighted to reverse form with a couple of them too so given the yards recent rich form he could well surprise here.
