Designer 1pt win only 10/1 – Just the two runs this term and looked very much in need of her belated season opener back in August. Followed that up with a much improved run behind a couple of these last time out and looks the one to have the most scope for improvement here. Runner up in the race in 2022 from a 6lb higher mark and should have more to offer with a couple of runs under her belt now for the season.

Lyric 0.5pt EW 22/1 (5 places Will Hill) – A promising winner of a decent looking Maiden race back in April but has failed to kick on in two runs since. Too early to write off however and out to be capable of picking up a race like this from what looks a fair mark. Disappointed last time out on his handicap debut here at Doncaster but looked in need of the run that day when stepped up in trip and todays trip and conditions should be ideal.

Navagio 0.5pt EW 20/1 (5 places B365) – Hard to fancy on his last run but finished 3rd in the Lincoln here back in March on his seasonal reappearance and that run came on softer ground and from a 10lb higher mark than he sits on here. Drop back in trip is interesting as the breeding suggests its not needed but the way he has been running suggests otherwise. Prior to his last run he had gone well at Haydock suggesting that he could be in some sort of form and had a blip last time out too.

Zip 1pt win only 13/2 – Recent form leaves a little to be desired but this 3 time CD winner will arrive here with conditions looking ideal and he will do so sitting on a very handy looking mark. Won a class 3 race on this card last year from a 9lb higher mark and finished 4th in this race the previous year when we had a field of 20 runners so clearly has his target set at this meeting and will likely go well again today.

Bob Bob Ricard 1pt win only 15/2 – Looked very comfortable when going 2/2 over the bigger obstacles in the summer and on that evidence should have more to offer now sent back chasing. Even in this Novice event he still looks less exposed than some of his key rivals and this mark here should not be beyond him.

Supreme Gift 1pt win only 11/1 – Was a good 3rd behind today’s favourite Zain Night over CD when last seen back in April and is weighted to reverse that form should he be ready to roll on his return from 192 days off. Has gone well fresh previously so that poses no problems, conditions look ideal and there could still be some improvement on the cards for one that still looks a little less exposed than some. Yard won the race back in 2020 with a similar sort and Harry Cobdens booking is a clear sign of intent.
