Castelfort 0.5pt EW 16/1 (4 places b365) – Lightly raced, progressive sort who was thrown right in at the deep end on reappearance this season. Back down to a more realistic level here and looks to be on a decent mark judged on previous form. Was not beaten far in a much better race on that reappearance which came on similar ground, that helps to put to bed any doubts over conditions. Capable of kicking on and looks dangerously well weighted for a yard that pick up their fair share of winners here and they send just 1 today.

Coral Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase
Evies Vladimir 1pt win only 11/1 – Was running a big race before coming to grief 3 out last time out when tried over a longer trip for the first time and comes here holding every chance if no worse off for the fall. This Irish raider does not look harshly treated despite running from out of the handicap and should be bang there at the business end for the yard that won this in 2018. Still very unexposed in these sort of races and has seen market support already.

Royal Jewel 1pt win only 10/1 – Ran well on chase debut to finish 2nd in a race that holds plenty of substance. That run was the seasonal reappearance too and this one could well have more to offer if able to settle today. Raced far too keenly last time out in another race that looks above this level so could well have more to offer in what looks a very winnable race. Yard have a very good 20% strike rate at the track in the last 12 months will a LSP of +92 from their 5 winners here.

His best form has him a good few lbs well in here today and the step up in trip on breeding looks like it could be what is needed.
