Sure Touch 0.5pt EW 40/1 (5 places B365) – Winner of 4 races over the summer but has not been seen in the same light in his two races following a short break. Had wind surgery prior to last race and will hopefully come on for that run should it have had the desired effect and doesn’t look harshly treated should that be the case. Still unexposed over todays trip and could be the surprise package in what looks a very nice race. Could have more to offer and comes here with the yard amongst the winners. Lively outsider.

Uttoxeter Racecourse Caravan And Motorhome Site Handicap Chase
Royal Mer 0.5pt EW 28/1 – Yet to find his form this season but as a result has now dropped in the weights to just 2lb higher than when comfortably wining the last of his 5 chase successes last term. Tried in headgear for the first time which is a slight worry but this represents a drop in grade today from a now sensible mark and the yard are in good order too so rates yet another lively outsider.

Polly Pi 0.5pt EW 22/1 (4 places B365) – Slightly risky proposition based on hurdles runs to date but is of more interest today stepping into handicap company for the first time and up in trip. Couple of promising bumper runs back in the summer but has failed to follow that up in 3 runs over obstacles. Will want this extra distance today however and conditions should also be in favour if the reported “good in places” rings accurate. The yard doesn’t tend to rush their horses but a chance is taken that todays conditions and step up will prove she opens on a fair mark.

Happygolucky 0.5pt EW 66/1 (4 places B365) – This would be a remarkable training performance should this one be able to get his head in front following a change of yard and a 683 day absence. That said this very lightly raced 11 year old has always had to be treated with kit gloves and returned from a similar absence for his previous yard (same owner) to run a huge race in behind a very talented horse that finished 4th in last years Gold Cup and 3rd in the King George back in Dec. So clearly a very talented horse when fit and has been persevered with very patiently by his owners for that reason. This looks like a reasonable chance if the new yard have managed to get him fit and he will run today from a very attractive mark. Comes with obvious risks attached but this yard are very smart and do not waste too much ammunition.
