Wen Moon 1pt win only 12/1 – Previous CD winner who is now sitting on a very dangerous mark following a period of lesser performances. Comes here now some 15lb below his last winning mark and gets the ground that has been desperately needed too. Latest run showed signs of getting back to form and this one could well run a big race in a weak looking contest. P Midgley catches the eye too having form figures in this race over the past 5 years that read 1211NR and he goes today with Glory Fighter 33/1 with 4 places available. A word of caution however is he is not looking particularly well handicapped and the yard saddled the last one home in 2017,18,19.

Ripon Cathedral City Of The Dales Handicap
Strong Warrior 1pt win only 14/1 – Bit of a risky one given that this one has been beaten by 10l and 7l in his last two runs but the later came following a break when stepped up in trip and not quite getting home and the previous one coming in a Group 1 behind the very talented Time For Sandals. This looks a more realistic target today and dropping back to 6f should be ideal. Yet to run on ground this slow but both wins have come on Good ground and breeding suggests no problems. Stable had the winner in 2023 and have been starting to find a few winners of late.

Michael Raby Memorial Handicap
Fenlander 1pt win only 8/1 – Fairly lightly raced 4 year old who is yet to find his level after 10 starts. Has run consistently however and has not been void of hope in better company than this today. Drops into a class 6 for the first time and does so sitting on a very attractive mark. Pam Sly has been pretty successful when sending them here with 6 winners and 5 placed from 30 and she was back in the winners enclosure this week too which rates a positive having not had a winner since June and this one was well punted last time out so is given another chance today.
