Low mileage and well handicapped based on the best of his form from last year. Will appreciate the overnight deluge of rain and if tuned up first time could put in a big effort today. Gelded since last seen and could well find improvement from last term which makes this one a very interesting contender. Yard going well and a very valuable 3lb is taken off by the very talented Ray Dawson who is 4 wins and 1 placed effort from just 13 runs for a 30% strike at the track with a LSP of +30.

Progressive last term for Sir Michael Stoute and is very interesting starting out from what looks a very workable mark for new yard. Has had a wind op since last seen and takes a step up in trip today. Breeding suggests the new trip should be no problem and is another that should appreciate the overnight rain.

Slightly disappointing when stepped up to this trip for the first time when last seen, that run came in very testing heavy ground however so we are willing to draw a line through that run and take a look a little further back through his form book. Going back to July last year we find a run where he was beaten just a nose by todays favourite in similar conditions but over the slightly shorter trip of 10 furlongs. Comes here fresh today and some 7lb better off with that rival and could well just outrun these odds. 4 places available which is too tempting a cover not to have a go.

Shrewd yard who are very keen to turn this one out very quickly suggesting that he has come out of his last race pretty well. Has a couple of pieces of turf form for previous yard that suggests this mark is a winable one too and if coping with conditions today should go close at inflated odds. Yard in good form and well worth a try in this open looking contest.

Trainers record in this race is one that stands out and peaks our interest. The selection put in a pretty underwhelming performance when last seen in the Betfair at Newbury but had previously put in a decent performance in the Greatwood at Cheltenham. That piece of form is possibly one that stands out in this field and a reproduction of something near that today would see this shrewd yard grabbing a 5th win in this race in just 8 years. On a decent mark and should be suited by today’s easing ground.
