On a long losing run but running with purpose and putting in some very consistent performances over the last 12 months. Returning from a lay off last time out and not disgraced either, should be sharper for that run and has been eased again in the weights coming into this. Get the very valuable 7lb claim of Frederick Larson effectively putting him on a mark of 53 today, a career low mark by a very long way. Returns to faster ground which will suit and has no excuses left. Has to go close with the yard going well.
Union Rose 0.5pt EW 40/1 (100Sand)
A 2 times CD winner who has fallen to a very workable mark as a result of some below par performances this term. Has shown a few sparks of hope however which offers encouragement returning here from such a lowly mark. Often takes a while to get going following a break and generally gets going around Aug/Sept so this may be a race or two too soon but there is no way we can leave him here today some 5lb below his last winning mark from 10 moths ago and with the help of todays 5lb claimer. Whatever happens he is one to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Very consistent for previous yard and didn’t really progress running mainly on the AW. Interesting here for new connections switched to turf on yard debut. Looks bred for this step up in trip on fast ground and if fully tuned up at the first time of asking should go very close from this very workable mark. race looks open to one that is unexposed and that could be this selection if the switch of yards and venue brings about any improvement, and judging on the breeding it absolutely should.

More than good enough to make his presence felt from this current mark and we take the extra insurance of the 5 places EW extra offered by Bet 365. Goes well on fast ground and can be forgiven his latest disappointment on soft ground. Previously had not been disgraced in a race that ties him in pretty well with todays favourite at the weights. Last win came back in 2018 so is not one that i expect to win but can he beat home half the field here, absolutely and at odds of 35/1 we are in.
