Was 5th off today’s mark in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival and has been wrapped up following an average performance at Aintree a month later. Will need to be ready after that lay off with some stiff competition coming from the likes of Saint Segal, Impulsive One and Bagheera Ginge who we feel could be the main danger but out to be capable in a race of this magnitude. Gets ideal conditions and went well at this time of year last season.
Baby Zeus 1pt win only (340 Newmarket) – Willie Mullins has won this race on 3 of the last 4 running’s and saddle the runner up last term who went under today’s jockey. Of his runners in the race today we feel that this is his best chance so given how serious the yard have taken this race in recent years we have to have a little go. Has performed very well over 1m 4f and is one to note stepping up in trip here today.
Masters Legacy 1pt win only 6/1 (402 Chepstow) – A race of keen interest and one that could provide a few clues to Haydock’s Stayers Hurdle next month. Phillip Hobbs takes this race pretty seriously and has one in the lineup that won on the card last term when making his return. His season ended with a bit of a whimper following a positive start and i have a feeling he will be thereabouts here today. Sits on that last winning mark and gets ideal conditions.
