Perculator 1pt win only 22/1 (350 Wetherby) – Shown a good level of form over hurdles since winning a Bumper last October and looked even better stepped up in trip last time out when unfortunately running into what looked like a bit of a plot for trainer P Neville who landed a treble on the day from somewhat out of the blue. Moves into handicap company today from what looks a very winnable mark and could well be a few lb ahead of the handicapper.
Trevelyn’s Corn 1pt win only 9/1 (205 Wetherby) – Has fallen to a very attractive mark following a couple of lesser runs over 3 mile and is worth another look for a Trainer/ Jockey partnership that do well in this sphere. Drops back in trip today to one where he was a runner up twice behind Into Overdrive last march and he has since gone on to win a grade 1 handicap from a mark of 142 so todays reduced mark could be somewhat of a gimme if able to rediscover that form.
Lonimoss bareliere 1pt win only 16/1 (150 Southwell) – Ran to a fair level over hurdles last term for Dan Skelton but has since had a change of yard and a change of tactics switching to fences. Has shaped better than the bare result on 4 tries over fences but is still to shake his maiden tag. Came closest over CD when despite being a distant second looked to have run into an improver who has gone on to win from a much higher mark since. Now 9lb below that run over CD and is worth another try on his return here.
Barnaviddaun 1pt win only 25/1 (115 Southwell) – Joined this yard from T Mullins back in 2021 and was running from a mark of around 135 which didn’t at the time look overly harsh. Was running a big race from that mark when unseating at Leicester last January and has been very inconsistent since. Takes a drop in grade here today with both trip and conditions looking favourable and has been handed a massive chance by the handicapper with a further 5lb taken off. Will need to finish off his races a little better but won’t get many better opportunities than this.
