Saturdays Selections from #Bath #Chester #Leicester #Sandown #York

The latest selections

Oriental Beauty 0.5pt EW 18/1 (300 Bath) – Well beaten on yard debut last time out when reappearing from 250 days off. Has plenty to prove here today too but has snippets of form for Mick Channon last term that puts her well above this revised mark. On her best run last term we have her at around 72 and goes from 55 today. Yards record here is a good one at around a 22% strike with a +47 LSP.

Dark Flyer 0.5pt EW 16/1 4places (336 Bath) – Just touched off over 7 furlongs back in January and followed that up with another decent run on the AW. Flopped last time and been off for 53 days since so there will likely be an excuse for that performance. Has a first run on turf today which should be more up his street and steps up to 1 mile for the first time which he looks to be crying out for. Sits on a very tempting mark and gets a very valuable 5lb off in the form of Benoit D L Sayette.

Chicago Gal 1pt win only 11/2 (411 Bath) – Shown plenty of promise on his 3 starts to date and gets a much needed step up in trip here on handicap debut for the in form Alan King. She will need to be ready after 7 months off but having the yard in good order gives us the confidence for that. Opening mark looks fair and a further 5lb taken off by the above mentioned claimer B Sayette makes this filly a very interesting prospect. Yards only runner at the meeting.

My Boy Charles 1pt win only 15/2 (446 Bath) – Way too free over the inadequate 8f trip last time out and should fair much better now upped in trip today. Won over 10f here last summer and is only 2lb above that mark here today. Finley Marsh takes off 3lb and has a decent record for the yard around here.

Redrosezorro 1pt win only 11/1 (430 Chester) – Had been banging on the door from his much reduced mark until missing the break last time out at Catterick. Should go well again if able to get away on terms from the 1 stall here at Chester.

Hamaki £10 win only 13/2 Skybet money back if 2nd or 3rd (140 Sandown) – Back to back winner last term before a lesser performance when upped in trip. Interesting then that the return run here is over an extra furlong having undergone a wind op suggesting that the trip should play to this ones strength and improvement could well be on the cards for top yard.

Running total – +£40.00

#SuperSunday Selections from #Goodwood #Musselburgh

The latest selections

The Turpinator 1pt win only 8/1 (130 Goodwood) – Disappointed last time out in a big field handicap at Ascot but had previously won on reappearance when making yard debut in a race that can be upgraded given how it has worked out before following up with a decent run in behind some very good horses. Still more to come from this one and has been set a more realistic task today down in grade.

Land Of Winter 1pt win only 17/2 (315 Goodwood) – Previous CD winner who was set a fairly hefty task on reappearance in the Chester Cup when looking to be in need of the run. This looks a more realistic target today and we fancy this one to get back to winning ways and continue the progression shown in 2021. Some overnight rain will have played to his strengths here today and i don’t think we have seen the limits to this ones abilities just yet.

Kimifive 1pt win only 8/1 (350 Goodwood) – Not won a race in 3 years but has gone well enough recently to suggest some ability is retained. Was 2nd here in the Stewards Cup from a 17lb higher mark in Aug 2020 and if able to rediscover any of that form returning here could well surprise today. Ought to be capable of taking a race of this magnitude and today could be the day.

Tio Mio 1pt win only 11/1 (450 Goodwood) – Ought to come on for his latest run and is now slightly better at the weights with the reopposing pair of Leroy Leroy/New Heights. Based on what we know of this yards runners he will be capable of reversing that form with the run under his belt and has been gelded since which could well put this one right. Still very unexposed on turf and should have more to offer today.

Talabaat 0.5pt EW 33/1 5 places SkyBet (545 Musselburgh) – We are going to ignore her last run on yard debut where looking in need of the run and not really doing herself any favours over an inadequate trip in a very hot looking race. This looks a little easier albeit competitive and the extra furlong should play a little more to her strengths. Cheek pieces have now been applied and this race will tell us more. Worth an EW dabble with 5 places on offer for a yard sending 1 runner and holding a record of 11 wins from 26 runners for a 42% strike at the course.

Fashion Advice £10 win only 11/2 Skybet money back if 2nd or 3rd (416 Musselburgh) – CD winner who went very close on reappearance from almost a year off last time out. Up 2lb for that but on last seasons form looks fairly well treated compared to a few of his main dangers here today. Today’s 5lb claimer is 3 wins and 4 placed from 13 for the yard and has had a great season so far.

#Derby Day selections from #Chepstow # Doncaster #Epsom #Hexham #Musselburgh

The latest selections

Danzeno 0.5pt EW 33/1 4 places B365 (321 Musselburgh) – No spring chicken at 11 years old but was better than ever last term winning 3 races and running well in some pretty competitive handicaps. Has gone well fresh in the past and with todays claim taken into consideration does not look harshly treated. A previous CD winner who’s yard have a great record in this race and have taken it on 3 occasions in its 8 running’s and they play a strong hand again today. They also run Sampers Seven who holds excellent chances too.

Monsieur Co 1pt win only 6/1 (205 Hexham) – Consistent performer who looked stretched over 3 miles last time out. Slowly creeping down the weights and sits on an attractive mark today some 21lb below his last winning one. That win came 18 months ago however so does not come without risk. Yards only runner on the card today and Brian Hughes on board rates a big positive.

Punchbowl Flyer 1pt win only 9/1 (550 Epsom) – Won 3 times last year and will come here absolutely bang on for his two starts this term. Was much improved last time out but has still been eased 4lb here which looks pretty generous to say the least. Back at his optimum trip and should go well. Would possibly like a little more give under foot but has won on good ground before.

King Of Stars 0.5pt EW 16/1 6 places Will Hill (345 Epsom) – Shaped very well last time out in a very competitive race and should be all the better for that run. Still looks to be fairly well treated based on his form from last term and will be competitive once more back in handicap company.

Hy Eales 1pt win only 9/1 (805 Chepstow) – Hard to make a case for on bare form results but take out the AW runs and this one has not performed badly on turf on more than one occasion and comes here sitting on her last winning mark. Possibly would like a little more give under foot but still rates a well treated sort when taking off Georgia Dobie’s 3lb for a yard that have a 36% strike here in the last 5 years. They send just this one today.

Our Man In Havana 1pt win only 7/1 (530 Chepstow) – Got up very late for a 2nd CD win on reappearance last time out and is taken to go well again upped just 2lb. Race looks no better than ordinary and comes here in better form than many of these rivals.

Multiple

0.25pt Trixie on Our Man In Havana/Hy Eales /Monsieur Co – 1pt

0.5pt EW Double on Danzeno/ King Of Stars – 1pt

Free Bet

Stone Age £5 win only 9/2 (B365 Free bet on any race at Epsom) (430 Epsom) – Much like the Oaks yesterday Aiden O Brien’s record in this race with a Galileo bred runner stepping up in trip is very hard to ignore. All 3 of his runners fit the bill but the selection is the mount of Ryan Moore and that’s good enough for us.

Specials/Offer

Potapova £10 win only 7/2 SkyBet money back if 2nd or 3rd (235 Epsom) – Returned to action with a big run at Kempton in April and has been brought along very gradually by Sir Michael Stoute. Very Promising sort who was finishing like a train last time out when just narrowly held by Roman Mist. Looks an improving sort who should go close again under Ryan Moore.

#EpsomOaks day selections from #Epsom #Catterick #Doncaster #Huntingdon #Bath

The latest selections

Tuesday 1pt win only 17/2 + The Algarve 0.5pt EW 100/1 4 places B365 (430 Epsom) – Aiden O Brien is no stranger to winning this race and has done it with his unfancied horses on more than one occasion. Tuesday 7/1 probably rates his main threat to the favourite and fits the bill in terms of being a Galileo filly stepping up to this trip for the first time like 4 of the yards previous winners of this race. The other selection could not go with the favourite Emily Upjohn in the Musidora at York and was comprehensively beaten that day. However many of this yards runners often need a first race and she could come on plenty for that race today.

Daiquiri 1pt win only 4/1 (751 Doncaster) – Has shown plenty of promise on both outings this term and is open to improvement here on handicap debut. Upped in trip which looks likely to suit and the form of the last couple of races is working out pretty nicely. Yard do well with their youngsters and they are profitable to follow here off a 27% strike rate in the last 5 years.

Keepers Choice 1pt win only 11/2 (730 Bath) – 3 wins and 2 places from 10 runs over CD and only 3lb above that last win here at this time last year. Should be fitter for his latest reappearance run and will enjoy being back here with conditions to suit from what looks a plum draw.

Suanni 1pt win only 15/2 (620 Bath) – Gelded since last run so much will depend on how he settles after that procedure. Comes here dropping in grade and having been eased slightly at the weight however and given the yards current form can be expected to go well. Has won at the track previously but that was over the extended 5f so todays race will be much sharper which we think will be ok.

Jersey 1pt win only 15/2 (355 Huntingdon) – Not been seen since falling on handicap debut 158 days ago but still holds plenty of potential from this mark for the very much in form yard of Dan Skelton. The yards sole runner on the card today and they will be looking to add to their tally of 6 winners from 12 runners in the last 14 days.

Nurseclaire 1pt win only 15/2 (445 Catterick) – Well held on stable debut and has been off the track for 158 days since that run. Had previously shown plenty for Richard Fahey and is one that still hold lots of potential now going handicapping for the first time. Kieron O Neill in the saddle rates a big positive with his record here over the last 5 years sitting at 5 wins from just 14 runs for a 36% strike. Yard are having a decent season and have been amongst the winners in the last couple of weeks.

Captain Howse 1pt win only 6/1 (840 bath) – Sir Mark Prescott has won this race on both occasions where he has had a runner line up. He has done so with runners that have stepped up markedly in trip on each occasion and that is the case for his runner here today. His winner last year was out of the Dam Australia as is the selection this time around. Blinkers on for the first time and needs to be taken seriously. Copperplate rates the main danger, well bred and will be crying out for this longer trip so i would not put anyone off covering the bet with a reverse forecast.

Specials/Offer

Self Praise £10 win only 8/1 (200 Epsom) Skybet money back if 2nd, 3rd or 4th – Possibly has some of the best form on offer from these and has shaped as if needing this extra furlong on both runs to date. Danny Tudhope takes over in the saddle and he has a great record for these connections of 4 wins and 2 placed from 9 for a 44% strike.

#Jubilee selections from #Chelmsford #FfosLas #Hamilton #Leicester #Redcar

The latest selections

Typewritten 1pt win only 9/1 (710 Chelmsford) – Finished last on yard debut last time out after 100 days off the track. Looked awkward and unsettled that day and could fair better back at Chelmsford where her best race to date was seen back in December. Tom Marquand takes over in the saddle which is a big positive and the addition of cheekpieces can certainly do no harm. Up in trip which looks likely to suit and could well surprise today.

Addie Boo Boo 1pt win only 6/1 (810 Chelmsford) – Lightly raced maiden who was not disgraced on reappearance when shaping as if in need of this extra furlong. Placed twice from 3 starts last term on the AW and is of interest again sent back to Chelmsford for his in form yard.

One Touch 1pt win only 14/1 (830 Ffos Las) – Little success in a campaign over fences and offered more hope over the smaller obstacles 19 days ago. Will need to up his game from that run but this lightly raced sort should be able to get involved in a race of this magnitude with conditions to suit and another helping hand from the handicapper. Yard are 5 from 13 here over the last 12 months for a 38% strike rate with an LSP of +35.

Significantly 1pt win only 10/1 (236 Hamilton) – A winner at Royal Ascot last year who looked in need of the run on his recent reappearance run following a gelding operation. Yards runners are renowned for coming on in heaps for their first run and this one needs respecting back in this grade having undergone a wind op. Has a fair bit of weight to give away here but looks like a group horse in a handicap race so should be too good if putting his best foot forward.

Johnny Drama 0.5pt EW 18/1 4 places B365 (445 Redcar) – Eased 5lb for his latest reappearance run following 272 days off and should be much better for that run coming here. Was not given a hard time following a wind op last time out and ought to be able to get competitive in a race like this with the aide of todays 5lb claim. Yard and connections won this race last year.

Monday selections

The latest selections

Khulu 1pt win only 9/1 (515 Redcar) – Ran well when back on turf last time out, staying on into 4th over the shorter trip of 5f. Has a decent chance on the pick of his form here and gets 7lb worth of help from the claimer on board who has also shown plenty of promise in his short career to date.

Vandad 0.5pt EW 28/1 (610 Windsor) – Ran as good a race as he has done for some time last time out at Ascot. Was awkward at the off there and had to go a little too hard too early to put his best foot forward. On that evidence this further slide in the weights makes this one of interest here at what look to be very generous odds.

Jewel In My Crown 1pt win only 9/1 (710 Windsor) – Progressive last term and should be fitter now having a run under his belt. Comes here with the yard in form and is taken to continue that progression now. Has ideal trip and conditions so should go close.

A Fantastic Five for Sunday from #Fontwell #Kelso #Uttoxeter

The latest selections

Jacks A Legend 1pt win only 6/1 (204 Fontwell) – Not been seen in the best light on his last couple of runs but has a piece of form at Newbury back in December that would make a mockery of this race. On that form he looks to be a good 10lb well in here given his excellent 5lb claim and has little or no excuses today. This marks a big drop in class today too.

Tazka 0.5pt EW 18/1 4 places SkyBet (424 Fontwell) – Not seen at her best recently over inadequate trips and could fare much better upped markedly in distance and tackling 3 mile plus for the first time. Both wins have come at this track and the latest one from a 4lb higher mark had plenty of signs that todays trip could well play to her strengths. 3lb taken off by the yards claimer and conditions look perfect.

Tara Niece 1pt win only 12/1 (459 Fontwell) – Should be much sharper for her latest run following a 643 day lay off and could take a big step forward here today. Shaped as if retaining ability last time out and is taken to reverse the form with the re opposing winner that day The Height Of Fame with whom she is 12lb better off at the weights with now. Emma Lavelle sends just this one runner and Adam Wedge comes in to take just the one ride. Independance rates the main danger if able to cope with the step up in trip.

Newtown Boy 1pt win only 16/1 (322 Kelso) – Fourth in this race last term from 6lb higher mark and not been seen since that race. Has gone well fresh in the past however and yard certainly know how to get one ready. Up against some in form rivals today but a few are starting to look exposed and at these prices a small nibble has to be had. Trainer/Jockey combo are a profitable one to follow too so no forlorn hope as the markets would suggest.

Destrier 1pt win only 11/2 (331 Uttoxeter) – Got up to win on the line when upped in trip for the first time last time out in a race that looked perfect for his first attempt at the longer trip. Won in a head bob from the re opposing Barton Knoll and we fancy him to confirm that form here again today for the very much in form Dan Skelton who is 8 from 16 for a 50% strike in the last 14 days. Manofthemountain would be very dangerous if the recent wind op has the desired affect so keep an eye on the market for that one too. Selection still looks pretty well treated on old form.

Tuesday’s Selections from #Bath #Newcastle

The latest selections

Sapphire Moon 1pt win only 12/1 (220 Bath) – One of 3 in the race for A Carroll and would appear to be the pick on jockey bookings. Will need to be ready following 7 months off the track but that’s not such a big ask over these sprint trips. Still a maiden after 10 runs but went close on more than 1 occasion last year and would not have to improve much to get involved here.

Nusa Dua 1pt win only 11/1 (320 Bath) – Open to bounds of improvement sent handicapping for the first time and upped markedly in trip. George Rooke is 3 wins and 3 placed from 10 for the yard over the past 12 months with a LSP of +32 so is noteworthy getting on board this one for the first time.

Idoapologise 1pt win only 11/1 (730 Newcastle) – Course winner who is sent significantly back up in trip following a few lesser runs. Has had a wind op and if that has the desired effect then this one is sitting on a very attractive mark. Has a very valuable 5lb taken off by R Sexton who is 5 from 22 at the track this year so certainly knows how to get one home.

Monday’s Selections from #Huntingdon #Ludlow #Wolverhampton

The latest selections

Poets Corner 1pt win only 8/1 (550 Huntingdon) – Former Points winner who could fare much better now sent chasing for the first time stepping up in trip. Any market support will be noteworthy for a yard that have done well here in the last 12 months, 4 wins and 3 placed from 16 for a 25% strike and an LSP of +34. Jack Quinlan has also been profitable to follow for this yard over that period with an LSP of +83 in the last 12 months from a 20% strike.

Jan Maat 1pt win only 12/1 (650 Huntingdon) – The other runner on the card for the above mentioned trainer/jockey combo and another who will be stepping up in trip. Previously with H De Bromhead and a once rated 142 Chaser who has fallen down the weights to a mark of just 109 i am positive it will only be a matter of time before this yard finds the key to getting his head back in front.

Voodoo Doll 1pt win only 7/1 (130 Ludlow) – Below form so far this term but as a result now sits on a very attractive mark some 3lb below his last winning one. Takes a small drop in class here for this and has a very valuable 7lb taken off by the family connections of Eleanor Williams.

Plansina 1pt win only 13/2 (210 Wolverhampton) – A 3 times CD winner who came very close over the trip here 2 runs back. Is quickly sent back to the Midlands track and does so under a change of pilot which is a big positive too. Finley Marsh has a great record for the yard and is profitable to follow when riding here for them.

Sunday’s Selections from #Fakenham #Nottingham #York

The latest selections

Wilderness 1pt win only 6/1 (320 Fakenham) – Still unexposed in this sphere and is well worth another try here over the bigger obstacles based on how he tackled them on chase debut. Step back up in trip looks a big positive and conditions look perfect. Yard have done well here in recent years and have a 28% strike over the last 5 years and are 3 wins 1 placed from 8 in the last 12 month.

First Impression 1pt win only 12/1 (330 York) – Very versatile performer for the in form J Quinn who is sitting on a very attractive mark and taking a fair dip in class here. Very capable and needs taking seriously

Empirestateofmind 0.5pt EW 16/1 6 places (505 York) – Not really seen at his best last time out at Thirsk but the form of his previous win at Ripon has worked out pretty well so far. Drops in grade here and gets ideal conditions too. Another from the in form J Quinn yard who should put in a big performance here.

Barbill 0.5pt EW 25/1 6 places PP (535 York) – This ones record when fresh is very hard to ignore and he sits on a very attractive mark, some 8lb below his last win for this yard debut. Has a very good 5lb claim on board and is hard to ignore with 6 places on offer.
