Ballydonagh Boy (1pt win only 13/2)
The P Kirby favourite won well last time out but looks vulnerable from the 13lb higher mark in a more competitive event here. Slainte Mhor should fare better back down in trip and with conditions looking more suitable but still has a little to prove following a poor performance last time out so its another Chasing novice that we look towards in the form of Ballydonagh Boy. Looked in need of the run on Chasing debut but didn’t disgrace himself by any means. Steps up in trip here and if that plays to his strengths then much better can be expected in the hands of champion jockey Brian Hughes. Yard have a decent record and are profitable to follow too.

Calivigny is somewhat of a mud loving CD specialist so its no surprise to see him at the head of the market here. He has also been in fine form too which means that he has very few secrets from the handicapper. Even a switch back to hurdles where slightly less exposed this could be a little bit of a stretch making him vulnerable to an improving sort. Leostar fits that description but has gone up 14lb for his latest success and also will have questions to answer in these conditions. Serious Ego has been hard to win with but drops markedly in class here for in form Ayr specialist Nicky Richards. Will he be ready to roll first time however remains to be seen. The chance we take is on another improving sort who has been unfortunate to take part in a couple of very hot races running into some very decent looking sorts. That said he has far from disgraced himself and although this opening mark is no gimme should have more to offer in this company.
