Racing Tv Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle
Meteorite (1pt win only 3/1) (NAP)
A fiercly competitive race with plenty of previous CD winners, horses down in grade and a couple of improving sorts all in the mix. Speredek is down again in grade to race in a C4 for the first time in over 3 years and has fallen to a dangerously low mark, yard have not been in the best form lately however so is possibly one for another day and depending on how he goes here on this softer ground will decide wether he may be one for the tracker. Aristo Du Plessis is another CD winner but is more miss than hit nowadays and you’d have to be confident that you have caught him on a going day to win from this mark, maybe in slightly stronger hands we would be giving him a squeek today but again one for another day. Coole Well is a very consistent performer who will certainly run his race again but struggles to get his head in front so will have his attitude tested today. Sarasota Star was found a race last time out but has been hit with an 8lb rise which will be hard to overcome upped in grade slightly. A similar story for Micky Hammond’s Applaus we feel too. Which brings us to the improvers. Amberose a 2 time CD winner who gets his conditions today and is sitting on around about the right sort of mark. Yard do well here and will be up there at the business end if able to bounce back from a poor run last time and finally the selection. Meteorite, one that is firmly on the up and despite recieving a 2lb rise in the weights for his reappearance run when finishing 2nd probably stil has more to offer than the rest of these. Drops in grade slightly with conditions in favour and comes here with the yard absoloutely of fire (5 wins from 8 in the last 14 days for a 63% strike) and goes in the very capable hands of Richard Patrick. The yards only runner sent on a 500 mile round trip and is the NAP selection

Llety Farms Handicap Hurdle
Rufio (1pt win only 3/1 ) (NB)
Nocte Volatus is entitled to head the market here but will not be getting it all his own way. His yard are going well and lost only to a subsequent winner last time out. Goes from the same mark here today and holds leading chances. The same however can be said for todays NB selection Rufio from the in form Harry Fry yard who also ran into one last time out and gets another try at the same weights. The form of the selections race however looks slightly stronger and this could be considered a drop in grade for a yard that have a good record here sitting at around a 25% strike, Sean Bowen takes the ride and he is also around the 25% mark in the last 12 months for the team. An outside danger may come in the form of Another Tuco who reverts back to the smaller obstacles today having had a miserable time of things over fences. His previous hurdles form shows that he is no forlorn hope from a massively reduced mark in first time blinkers which could spark some sort of revival. Yard not really firing however so would only warrant a small EW play at best.

Special Buddy 1pt win only 12/1 (IWAC)
The 3 at the head of the market all have some credit for being there but all have a few chinks in their armour and show some vulnerabilities. Ector put in an improved performance last time out when 2nd at Haydock but has gone up 3lb for that effort and sits on a mark that doesn’t really flatter him with his yard currently out of sorts. Venetia Williams has her yard going much better but Arqalina looks to be in the grips of the handicapper unless able to find some improvement, something that the reappearance run at Uttoxeter seems not to suggest Lex Talionis has been an unreliable sort for his previous yard but put in a fair effort on debut for the in form Oliver Greenall and will be entitled to have come on for that latest run. Much of his best form however has come on better ground and these deeper conditions today are not likely to suit. Sutters Mill is a big price from this much reduced mark and with 4 places available over at SkyBet was a very tempting proposition, yard not in the best of form however which is slightly off putting despite getting conditions to suit today. Special Buddy is an interesting one from the Ben Pauling yard who will be entitled to go much better today. Looked in need of last run and is still very lightly raced and open to bags of improvement. Yard do pretty well with the few that they send here (4 wins and 4 placed from 18 for a 22% strike) and with Darly Jacob booked for the ride we put this one as our IWAC selection today
