Less exposed than some of his rivals here and put in an encouraging run on return to action following a 316 day lay off. Making his chase debut on that occasion and jumped with credit until running out of steam and looking a little ring rusty. Should come on for the run and has been eased 4lb for what was a fair performance. Still very unexposed and rates an interesting contender.

Instinct makes me want to go automatically to the other Christian Williams runner purely due to the jockey choices with Jack Tudor being his yard jockey. However the breeding of this horse interests me more. Has a pretty impressive pedigree and despite having not shone over hurdles could be a different beast over the bigger obstacles. Gavin Sheehan takes the ride and makes the lowest weight that he has made in the last 12 months to do so. He has a pretty impressive record at the track too with 10 wins and 8 placed efforts from just 26 runners for a 38% strike and a LSP of +20

Sky Bet Money Back As Cash Handicap Hurdle

Surprisingly Colin Tizzard first ever runner at Catterick and looks on best form to be the class act in the race. Has failed to complete on last two starts over fences having previously run up to a very good level in the sphere and reverts back to the smaller obstacles here. Is equally as effective over the smaller obstacles and sits on a fair mark should he be able to bounce back. Conditions look perfect and Harry Cobden comes in for just this one ride. Not sure quite how significant that is but in six years he has only ridden 7 here winning 3 times and placing a further twice. He is also 2 wins and 3 placed from 6 rides on the horse so plenty to like.

Put in a much improved performance on return to action last time out at Ludlow and will be entitled to have come on for that. A wide open race and perfect opportunity for this one to get his head in front. Champion jockey Brian Hughes takes the ride in a race where he could of probably had the leg up on a handful. Yards only runner on the card so enough to get us interested.

Last years winner in similar conditions to what we see here. Not been the same horse since however and has put in a few questionable performances. Hard to ignore however as due to that poor spell he arrives back here some 10lb lower than when winning last year, and does so in the hands of champion jockey Brian Hughes.
