Will need to be ready off of a near 5 month layoff but this yard is more than capable of getting one right. Yard won the race in 2018 and could have one that is way ahead of her current mark here.
Canoodled 1pt win only 5/1 (503 Newmarket) – Consistent performer who won this race last term from a 1lb higher mark. Seems to enjoy it around here judged on her two runs at the track to date and has a massive pull in the weights today with the re opposing favorite Tarrabb who is some 13lb worse off here and that’s without Saffie Osbourne’s 3lb claim. Conditions also look ideal.
Nap: Lady Mojito 1pt win only 9/2 (136 Redcar) – Arrives here on the back of a very encouraging debut for the yard that took this race in 2019 and 2020. Was only beaten that day by a couple of above average sorts who had experieced the track before. Should be open to plenty of improvement for that run and todays conditions will suit.
Iwac: Jumbeau 1pt win only 11/1 (321 Redcar) – Absent since finishing 5th in what has turned out to be a fairly strong renewal of the Windsor Castle at Ascot back in June. Was a winner at the first time of asking and that layoff has not deterred us too much today. Looks almost certain to be suited by today’s step up in trip and it will most likely bring about some improvement too. Yard have been in decent nick lately and we are hopeful of a big run.
Nnb: Tis Marvellous 1pt win only 11/2 ( 151 Ascot) – Already has 4 course wins to his name including a win in this race last term. This unique track seems to get the best tune out of this Clive Cox trained veteran in this sphere and another bold bid can be expected. Today’s easing conditions and a return to Ascot ought to be enough to bring about a reversal in the Newbury form with today’s favorite Manaccan.
Nb: Commanche Falls 1pt win only 13/2 (300 Ascot) – Better than ever this term but will need to prove himself away from handicap company for the first time and also on this unique undulating track. Has done very little wrong when having to give weight away in some very hot company this year and runs right through the line each time. Yard won this race for these connections in 2020 and we fancy them to do so again with this tough as teak individual.
