Read Andrew Balding On Betway Insider Handicap

Morning Shadow (0.5pt EW 28/1 B365)

Lightly raced maiden having a first run for shrewd trainer James Ferguson since leaving Mark Johnston. Eased another 3lb here and although needing to find some improvement has been in good hands and must have more to offer.

19:05 Wolverhampton 31 Jul 2020

Follow At The Races On Twitter Handicap

Masquerade Bling (1pt win only 14/1)

CD winner lurking on a very dangerous mark with the very talented Cieron Fallon taking off an extra 3lb. Yard have been in form of late and any sort of revival puts this one well in the mix.

19:35 Wolverhampton 31 Jul 2020

Download The At The Races App Handicap

Follow Intello (0.5pt EW 16/1 Will Hill)

Ran over an inadequate trip last time out returning from a 265 day lay off and as a consequence falls here back to his last winning mark. Yard going well and stepped back up in trip here has to hold excellent EW chances.

13:10 Goodwood 29 Jul 2020

British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap

Lake Lucerne (1pt win only 6/1)

The first of 3 selections from the in form John Gosden yard for us for Wednesdays Goodwood card. Left a poor debut race behind when scoring stepping up in distace back in March. Unable to land a blow last time out in a hot race and takes a drop into handicap company here from what looks a fair mark.

14:15 Goodwood 29 Jul 2020

Unibet 3 Boosts A Day Handicap

Encipher (1pt win only 8/1)

Number 2 from the Gosden yard nd a very similar story to the last, comes here droping markedly in class and tackling a handicap for the first time. Again looks fairly treated and takes a step up in trip here which should suit and could well bring about some improvement.

16:20 Goodwood 29 Jul 2020

Theo Fennell Handicap

Verboten (1pt win only 11/1)

Has a tough draw to overcome here and has not shown himself in a good lightso far this term. Far better than that however and we take a chance on his best form. Completes the trilogy of Gosden trained Godolphin runners. A well regarded horse who will have more to offer at some point.

13:45 Goodwood 29 Jul 2020

Unibet You’re On Goodwood Handicap

The Grand Visir (1pt win only 11/1)

Just denied a neck at Royal Ascot from this mark and could well have come on for that run. Trainer has won this race twice in recent years and sends a strong hand again here. Over piced on last run in top company and well worth another try from the same mark.

18:00 Thirsk 29 Jul 2020

Sky Bet Thank You Key Workers Handicap

Shared Belief (1pt win only 7/1)

Arcie Watson saddles just the one runner on the day and its one who comes here looking to be coming into form. Ran no sort of race at Royal Ascot but drops into much more suitable company here with the yard in much better order now.

13:10 Goodwood 28 Jul 2020

British European Breeders Fund EBF Fillies’ Handicap

Wasaayef (1pt win only 11/4)

Yard has their string in good order and this lightly raced and well bred entry looks an exciting prospect on return from almost a year off. Has some pretty decent form in her 3 starts to date and this mark of 93 could well be an underestimated one.

16:55 Goodwood 28 Jul 2020

British European Breeders Fund EBF Fillies’ Handicap

Tulip Fields (1pt win only 9/2)

Won a couple of handicaps returning to action including one here at Goodwood and ran very well in a listed event last time out. Returns to handicap company eased slightly in the weights and goes for a trainer that often does well at this meeting.

14:30 Ayr 28 Jul 2020

Jordan Electrics Handicap

Harrison Point (1pt win only 6/1)

Has run respectably in better company and comes here for a yard well and truly in form and a trainer/jockey combination that are making a name for themselves. Also sits on a falling mark and is looking fairly treated here down in grade.

14:45 Goodwood 28 Jul 2020

Qatar Lennox Stakes

History Writer (0.5pt EW 80/1 4 Places Will Hill)

Huge outsider going for a yard who don’t waste much ammunition. Has an entry in a C2 handicap later in the week so with the yards horses in good order its very interesting to see this one pitched in to a Group2 contest. Was possibly in need of latest run and undoubtedly has something to find here but at these odds with 4 places on offer we have to have a nibble

Every Race Live On Racing TV Fillies’ Novice Stakes

Sarsanet (1pt win only 6/1)

Kodiac filly out of a Listed winning Dam. Sister and half sister to a couple of notewortyysorts including Tawdheef a winner on debut and goes from a rating of 90+. This one has a little more stamina in the breeding so this 7F trip looks ideal on debut. Certainly one of the more interesting runners in this line up. Yard a little out of sorts being my main concern.

18:30 Windsor 27 Jul 2020

Final Furlong Podcast Handicap

Broughtons Gold (1pt win only 3/1)

Was due to run at Newmarket on Saturday at Newmarket when quietly fancied and was withdrawn that day. Turned out quickly here suggesting this in form yard are looking to strike while the iron is hot. That was a C2 handicap and this race is a much lower sighted target as a C4. Twice a winner already in just 4 starts and worth another try here.

19:00 Windsor 27 Jul 2020

Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap

Adonis Blue (1pt win only 10/1)

Goes for the in form Roger Charlton yard and not really done much to talk about in 3 starts. Enters handicap company here however from a lowly mark of 67, somewhat of a shock maybe for the yard as they had him enterend in a slightly higher grade before switching to this. His best run was his latest over this CD and looks fairly treated here with Tom Greatrex taking off a further 3lb. Tom has a good strike rate for the yard of 25%

0.25pt Trixie on above 3 runners – 1pt

From the Tracker

Derek Le Grand 1pt win 6/1 830 Windsor – Runner up behind Molinari last time out who went on to run a very promising and well fancied Gosden runner very close. Up 2lb for that run but this step up in trip could eek out a little more judging by how he finished off his race that day.

15:05 Ascot 26 Jul 2020

Betfred Valiant Fillies’ Stakes

Love and Thunder (0.5pt EW 16/1 Coral)

Over priced runner for a bang in form yard. One of two in the race for trainer John Gosden and the pick of stable jockey Rab Havlin. Only beaten a short head on debut when over in France and made a winning start for these new connections at Newbury. Dissapointing latest run at Epsom but excuses can be made for that run. Will need to bounce back but looks to be no forlorn hope for this top yard.

16:50 Ascot 26 Jul 2020

Betfred Treble Odds On Lucky 15’s Handicap

Makram (1pt win only 7/1)

Plenty of encouragement can be taken from his win on just 2nd start for on the AW at Lingfield. Opening mark here judged on that form looks a very leiniant one with his yard in blistering form. Oisin Murphy takes the ride and he is 6 wins and 7 placed from just 26 for this yard a record that only improves when taking a look over the shorter term.

15:40 Ascot 26 Jul 2020

Princess Margaret Betfred Stakes

Santosha (1pt win only 4/1)

One from the tracker and one of two entered in the race for rising yard. Not a bad headache to have with these two very promising youngsters. With limited form on offer the form of this ones races to date could be playing out just ever so slightly better so we take a chance here. Conditions should pose no problems.

16:55 Cartmel 26 Jul 2020

Holker Hall & Gardens Handicap Hurdle

Judge Et Parti (1pt win only 8/1)

A rare runner over obstacles for the in form Archie Watson yard and he will no doubt have this one ready to roll here. Won first time out last term and despite winning twice last year will kick off this campaign 2lb lower than his last winning mark. Brodie Hampson takes the ride as per and has a great record for this team.

0.25pt trixie on above 3 win selections – 1pt

Others of note from the tracker

Blazing Hot 5/1 (140W) 1pt win – Worth another try back up in trip following a couple of decent efforts over minimum trip where running into one and not getting a clear run on the other occasion.

Bomb Proof 7/1 (155A) 1pt win – Form of debut race for Jeremy Noseda worked out very well and despite long lay off made a winning return for new yard. Opening mark looks stiff but very talented and could well improve for last run.

Chocoya 40/1 (340A) – Huge price judged on latest run but would have wanted more places available to chance the EW bet.

13:40 Newmarket 25 Jul 2020

British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes

Dhahabi (1pt win only 5/2 B365)

This superbly bred Frankel colt has the markings of one that is very special. Half brother to the top class Golden Horn. Holds an entry in the G2 Futurity over in Ireland for next month and has to be respected here.

13:50 Ascot 25 Jul 2020

BetfredTV Pat Eddery Stakes

Saeiqa (1pt win only 4/1 B365)

John Gosden has his runners going well and has a 41% strike in the last 7 days having scored with 5 from 12 with 4 more running into a place. The selection has by far the best piece of form on offer when 3rd in the Coventry at the Royal meeting, a race that has produced a handful of winners since. Should benefit from the step up in trip here today too.

14:50 Newmarket 25 Jul 2020

Alborada Trust Fillies’ Novice Stakes

Bizzi Lizzi (1pt win only 11/1 general)

One of two very interesting newcomers here for the bang in form John Gosden. Will need to be ready first time up to beat the short priced favourite but has more than enough in the breeding to suggest that possibility is more of a reality.

16:00 Newmarket 25 Jul 2020

Chestnut Giving Tree Handicap

Beatboxer (1pt win only 11/2 general)

Can be forgiven a poor reappearance run at Royal Ascot from a near on impossible draw. Has been eased a few pounds here and now sits just 1lb above last winning mark for the above mentioned in form yard. Steps up in trip and has ideal conditions so no more excuses for this one.

16:10 Ascot 25 Jul 2020

Betfred.com Handicap

Arabist (0.5pt EW 25/1 PP)

Now we move on to an ex John Gosden runner who has been snapped up by Dr Marwan Koukash and put in the hands of another yard going well, Ian Williams. The sort that this yard excels with and could spring a surprise here from the bottom of the market. A very low mileage runner and yard won this race last year.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
