Now sits 17lb below his last winning mark and his latest run offered signs of encouragement. Has been used to operating above this level so and is no forlorn hope here today. More than capable if in the mood today.

Sir Benedict 1pt win only 10/1 (245 Ayr) – Has not yet put his best foot forward since joining this yard and patience will soon be wearing thin. Now 18lb below last winning mark and some 14lb lower than when placed at Yarmouth last summer. Has a further 5lb taken off by todays claimer and has to show more here today with conditions looking favourable. Down in grade markedly from latest run.

Granite City Doc 0.5pt EW 25/1 4 places Corals (458 Ayr) – Largely out of form last season and looked in need of the run on reappearance at the start of the month. Takes a drop in grade here from his much reduced mark and warrants a little more respect with conditions in favour. Has run well over CD previously and has won his last two starts in this grade.

Dan Gun 1pt win only 12/1 (820 Southwell) – Latest run was a much improved one on what he has achieved since joining this yard from Dan Skelton. Has had a wind op since latest run and hopefully that will allow him to build on that run and get back to winning ways. Now 19lb below last winning mark, has conditions in favour and is running out of excuses.
