Rhoscolyn 0.5pt Ew 28/1 7 places Will Hill (300 Ascot) – Completely bombed out last time out at Newmarket but had previously run a big race here in the Buckingham Palace back in June. Was third that day and closing well having been denied a clear run and if able to put that latest disaster behind him should go well once more from a decent draw.
Thank The Lord 1pt win only 16/1 (630 Salisbury) – Flopped on last two outings but was running well when stumbling on reappearance at this track back in June. Drop back to 5f looks a positive on breeding and could get back on track returning here at a big price.
Music Society 0.5pt Ew 16/1 (240 York) – Placed 2nd in this race last year from a 6lb higher mark for shrewd local trainer T Easterby who runs 4 in the race today. Will need to bounce back from a few lesser runs since winning at Catterick back in June but that would come as no surprise from this yard.
Tessa 1pt win only 10/1 (350 York) – Ran with plenty of promise on all 4 starts to date and is worth a chance here on handicap debut. Opening mark not overly harsh and the drop back down to 6f here will be a huge positive as will the long straight here at York.
0.25pt EW Yankee on above 4 runners
Kind Gesture £5 win only @13/2 Bet365 free £5 bet on any race at Ascot (225 Ascot) – Very progressive looking sort who was a hard held 10 lengths winner last time out. Steps up markedly in grade here but warrants plenty of respect with conditions looking very favourable. Unexposed and should be capable of making her mark at this level.
Minnietonka £10 win only @10/1 Skybet money back if 2nd or 3rd offer. (150 Ascot) Very impressive at Salisbury on debut but was not seen at her best last time out at Newmarket. Had excuses that day and didn’t really act on the tacky ground so better can be expected here with ideal conditions. Open to plenty of improvement and is one that trainer Richard Hannon holds in very high regard.
