Playful Saint 1pt win only 14/1 – Very lightly raced 8 year old who was staying on well when third last time out in the Imperial Cup. Looks bred to improve for this step up in trip and the Skelton’s certainly know how to target these big handicaps and in fact took this race last year with Langer Dan who won at this years festival. Has possibly gone under the radar slightly here and goes from what looks a fair mark now stepping up to a trip that he can only improve over.

Hullnback 1pt win only 8/1 – Ran very well here last year to finish runner up in the grade 2 bumper and has gone on to produce some pretty solid hurdles form this term. Looks to have been campaigned with this race in mind and he will come here with his yard already amongst the winners here at this years festival. Yet to face this calibre of opponent but looks all class and is improving all the time.

Equus Dancer 1pt win only 14/1 – Another who looks to have been campaigned with a race here in mind and when you add in that this yard has won the race 5 times, including last years renewal then you have to sit up and take notice. A very versatile performer who has not finished improving in this sphere and ought to have more to offer switched back to bigger obstacles.

Grey Dawning 1pt win only 10/1 – Has progressed nicely this year over hurdles and won in very gutsy fashion at Warwick when last seen. Forged clear having had to battle for position late on to go away from the field in taking style. Step up again in trip here could bring about further improvement and has been freshened up with a break before this race. Looks versatile with conditions and should run a big race for a top yard.

Abersoch Land And Sea Handicap Hurdle
Ukantango 1pt win only 16/1 – Useful novice hurdler who has a very comfortable CD win to his name. Was a little out of his depth when looking to have been undone by the testing conditions at Sandown in the Tolworth hurdle but followed that up with a much improved run in a grade 2 race at Kempton. Drops into handicap company here for the first time from what looks to be a very attractive mark on his best form and the now drying ground should help his cause too.
